Lauren received a B.S. in Marine Biology from the University of Rhode Island in 2016 and a Masters of Oceanography from the University of Rhode Island's Graduate School of Oceanography in 2017.
Lauren developed a passion for sharks at a young age after realizing they were nothing like they were portrayed to be in the media. As Lauren continued to learn more about sharks and their behavior, she became more resolute in her personal goal - to educate people about sharks and the dangers facing their populations today.
Lauren has traveled throughout the world including Hawaii, Bahamas, South Africa and Fiji to participate in different jobs and internships that focus on shark research, conservation and outreach. Lauren currently works with naturalist and award winning cinematographer, Joe Romeiro and 333 productions along with Rhode Island Shark Diving from July-September running shark diving trips. Lauren has also been working for NOAA/NMFS Apex Predators Program located in Narragansett, RI and is working on projects about sharks and other commercial important species. Her research interests cover the biology, ecology, conservation and management of sharks populations throughout the globe.
